If you know your hat size, this will fit perfectly snug on your head. The brim is wide enough to block most of the sun during those hot summer days in the field, and the design itself (the X's around the crown) actually let's the hat breathe much better than straw hats that utilize eyelets in the crown. Resistol's design collaboration with George Strait results in a hat that's both aesthetically pleasing and practical. Well done.
On a side note, the hat itself is made of Shantung straw, or as the label says, Shantung Panama. I know of Shantung and Panama straws, but Shantung Panama? It must be a blend of sorts. This has not effect on the hat to me.
Also, the hat was very dry upon arrival, lots of cracking. Even the front end of the crown starting warping. All that was needed was a little steaming to moisturize it and reshape it back to normal and looking sharp.
