Family is one of the most important things in life. As a family owned and operated business, Lammle’s knows how family builds us up, shapes our lives, and is an unfailing rock when everything gets busy. Everyone deserves quality time with family, and as much as we would rather there be more than one day dedicated to spending that time together, we’ve come up with some fun ways to spend this holiday with the ones most important to you!

Barbeque With the Fam:
Who would we be if we didn’t recommend a hearty barbeque with your family on Family Day? It’s the best time to do it! Even though it’s chilly outside, good food and good company is sure to warm everyone up. Throw some Canadian home-grown steaks on, get everyone to pitch in for the sides, and make not just a meal out of it, but a quality bonding-time experience for the whole family!
Trail Ride:
A Western family day should always include a trail ride, in our humble opinion at least. Suit the family up with their riding jeans and boots, and go on an adventure! Either take everyone out for an afternoon around the ranch, or, there are many amazing trail ride providers and locations in Western Canada if you wanted to make an extra long weekend out of it; of course that depends on where you prefer to go, but any trail ride is a great trail ride when you’re spending it with your loved ones.
Game’s Afternoon:
Horseshoe, card games, tag, pin the tail on the donkey; set up a fun afternoon full of games for everyone to enjoy. Make a schedule, or play it by ear based on what everyone is leaning towards as far as the games go! Buy some things at the store, or DIY it; horseshoe can be simply made with a wood block, a short pole, and horseshoes! Maybe even rope everyone into making a game, and then everyone can participate in each game as the day goes on.
Campfire:
A classic, the campfire is an essential in family day! Well… that’s what we think, but we also think you’ll enjoy one just as much as we do! Especially with Family Day being in chilly February, what better way to finish off a day than a campfire wrapped cozily in blankets, telling stories, singin’ a tune or two, and, of course, s’mores; maybe even a cup of hot chocolate… or four, we won’t tell! On a more serious (and heartfelt) note, simply spending time with family, sharing some experiences, some laughs, and warmth—whether you be around a campfire, or simply on the couch in your living room with snacks and drink in hand— is the best thing you can do on Family Day, and on any other day you get the chance to have quality time with those you love most.
From our family to yours, we sincerely hope you have a lovely Family Day filled with love, laughter, joy, and experiences (big or small) that will be remembered for a lifetime.
