Position: Audit and Accounting Clerk
Reports to: Controller
Role: Our auditing team plays a critical role in ensuring the financial success and reputation of the organization. As an auditor and accounting clerk you are detailed orientated and enjoy fact finding. You take pride in accuracy when reconciling financials from stores and the eCommerce dept and meeting deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Balance and reconcile store sale transactions with payment methods (Gift card transactions, daily sales transactions & promotional coupon tracking)
- Confirm transaction efficiencies
- Data entry in Sage Accounting System
- Match and code A/P invoices
- Enter in A/P – payment processing, statement balancing
- Experience entering and posting journal entries
- Supporting month end and year end close
- Assist with monthly account reconciliations
- Assist with PST and GST returns
- Supporting Accounts Payable with AP entry and process flow optimization
- Supporting Accounts Receivable with cash applications and statements
- Showcase a positive attitude to the tasks assigned
- Basic administrative duties – filing, emails, letters, memos, etc.
Skills:
- Accounting experience- A/P, A/R, G/L
- Computer skills- specifically proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Excellent attention to detail
- Well developed organizational skills
- A desire to thrive in a team environment
- The ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Sage Accounting System
- Accounting or related field certificate or diploma
- 2 years accounting experience
