WHO WE ARE
Doug Lammle, together with his business partner and brother Barry Lammle, established Lammle’s Western Wear & Tack in November of 1983 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with 4 stores serving the local market. Doug Lammle spent 13 years in management positions at one of Canada’s largest retailers before leaving in 1983 to open his own chain of local western retail stores. Barry Lammle had established himself as one of Alberta’s premier Leather Goods retailers and continues to Operate Boutique of Leathers as well as taking over the role as President of Lammle’s Western & Tack in August of 2006 when Doug announced his retirement.
Since then, Lammle’s has expanded to 23 locations across the province and are a niche market in the retail industry. With stores in Banff, Calgary, Camrose, Edmonton, Fort Saskatchewan, Lloydminster, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Olds, Red Deer and coming soon to Strathmore, Lammle’s is the western lifestyle leader in boots, hats, clothing, accessories, tack and music!
Recognized as one of the top 10 western wear retailers in North America, Lammle’s prides itself on its celebration of the Alberta western heritage. Aside from recognition from WESA, Lammle’s was awarded the 2004 Platinum Award from Canadian Recording Industry Association to commemorate sales over 100,000 of George Strait’s CD “50 Number Ones” and the 1999 Pinnacle Award. The Pinnacle Awards were created in Calgary in 1987 by Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP to honour individuals in the business community for their entrepreneurship and community contribution. The Awards program has grown to become a very prestigious event which is well recognized the Alberta business community. Under the admirable leadership of Doug Lammle, Lammle’s Western Wear & Tack and his exceptional team were awarded a prestigious place in the Top 50 Best Managed Companies in Canada for two years in a row ( 2005 and 2006) an award bestowed only on the Best companies by Deloitte & Touche.
At Lammle’s Western Wear & Tack, we are a proud, passionate and dedicated team! Lammle’s staff are not only employed in the western industry, but they live, breathe and play in the western lifestyle! Many of our staff come from a rural background and understand the needs of those in the agricultural industry. We understand the needs our customers from our own perspective.
Today, under the Lead of Barry Lammle and his dedicated Executive Team, Lammle’s is celebrating it’s 25th year as an aggressive marketer, community supporter that knows and respects the industry. We are the largest Western Wear Retailer in Canada and we plan to do it bigger, better and best for years to come!
